Share with Me: A Study on a Social Robot Collecting Mental Health Data

Social robots have been used to assist with mental well-being in various ways, such as help children autism improve on their social skills and executive functioning (e.g., joint attention bodily awareness). They are also older adults by reducing feelings of isolation loneliness, well supporting teens children. However, existing work this sphere has only shown support for health through responding interactively human activity them learn relevant skills. We hypothesize that humans can get from releasing or sharing data the robots. In paper, we present a human-robot interaction (HRI) study evaluate hypothesis. During five-day study, total fifty-five (n=55) participants shared in-the-moment mood stress levels robot. Our statistical analysis showed no significant relation between weekdays, mood/stress levels. saw majority positive results indicating it is worth conducting future direction, potential largely well-being.
